Data deletion

This page explains how to have BarqAI delete your data. Choose the case that fits you. What we collect and why is in the WhatsApp platform privacy policy.

If your business connected WhatsApp to BarqAI

1. Remove BarqAI's access in Meta

This stops BarqAI from receiving new messages and from acting on your WhatsApp Business Account. You can do it at any time without contacting us.

  1. Open Business settings in Meta Business Suite and select your business portfolio.
  2. Under Integrations, open Connected apps.
  3. Select BarqAI and remove it.

You can also do it from your Facebook account: Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Business integrations. Select BarqAI and choose Remove. Menu names can differ slightly as Meta updates its tools.

2. Ask us to delete your stored data

Removing access does not by itself erase what we already store. To delete it, email contact@barqai.agency from the address on your BarqAI account, with the subject "Data deletion request", your business name and the WhatsApp number you connected.

What happens next

  • We confirm receipt within two working days. If the request does not come from the email address on the account, we ask for proof that you act for the business before deleting anything.
  • Within 30 days we delete your access tokens, conversation history, contacts, bot settings and account data, and email you to confirm it is done.
  • Copies in backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
  • We keep only what the law requires: invoices and payment records for 7 years under Estonian accounting law, and a record of your request and the date we completed it.

Deleting data at BarqAI does not delete your WhatsApp Business Account, phone number, message templates or any data Meta holds. You manage those in WhatsApp Manager, under Meta's own terms.

If you messaged a business that uses BarqAI

The business you messaged decides what happens to your conversation, so ask it first. If you cannot reach it, or it does not answer, email contact@barqai.agency with your WhatsApp number and the name or number of the business. We will ask you to confirm the number is yours, then pass your request to the business and help it answer within one month, as the GDPR requires.

To stop receiving messages straight away, block the business in WhatsApp. Messages also remain on your phone and with WhatsApp under the WhatsApp privacy policy; BarqAI cannot delete those.

Everyone else

If you emailed us or visited this website, email contact@barqai.agency and we will delete your data within one month, as described in the website privacy policy.
